Sunday Talk Series at Unity of Greater Hartford Will Focus on Tarot Archetypes as Spiritual Guides

"The Journey Within: Guides & Challenges on the Spiritual Path" will be the theme of a summer series of Sunday talks by Rev. Ed Townley centered on images and archetypes from the Tarot, to be offered at Unity of Greater Hartford, 919 Ellington Road (Route 30) in South Windsor. The series will run from June 3 to August 5, Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

Rev. Townley is the senior minister at Unity of Greater Hartford. He also writes and speaks widely on elements of the Hero's Journey-the creative process of moving through challenges and resistance to ever-greater realizations of spiritual power and possibility. "The archetypes of the Tarot," he notes, "are ancient and effective outer symbols of our inner strengths and fears. They provide useful guides as we negotiate the difficulties inherent in being spiritual beings engaged in a human experience."

Unity of Greater Hartford is a part of the worldwide Unity movement of prayer and spiritual empowerment that has been exploring the metaphysical dimensions of life for more than 125 years. The local center offers Sunday morning gatherings, as well as classes, services, support groups, a monthly coffee house and art exhibits.
